Euripides, Women of Troy

415 BC

Feminists eat your heart out. This is described as the first anti-war poem. Euripides describes the plights of those affected by the battle of Troy, the war that takes place in the Iliad.

Specifically, the woman who suffered needlessly as a result of men’s rage. I picked this book up in a charity shop down the street from my house and read it in about 15 minutes.

⚖️ Expectations vs Reality

As I said above, I read this in 15 minutes, and I didn’t find it to be a particularly interesting or enjoyable experience, if I’m being completely honest.

🍻 Would I get a beer with the author?

I was going to write no, but then remembered he wrote the Bacchae…. it’s tough, but I am leaning towards no.
