Hemingway, A Moveable Feast

1964

I didn’t realize what a moveable feast was until I researched Easter on Wikipedia. Why does he call this book that?

This book is really hard not to like, I don’t know what to say. The mystique of Hemingway. I heard his wife stitched it together after his death though, which soured me to it.

I read this book for the first time in college. I read this and The Rum Diaries on the same day, and shame on Hunter S. Thompson, they are exactly the same book. Hunter S. Thompson said in a Paris Review interview that he learned how to write by copying every line of A Moveable Feast and The Great Gatsby on his typewriter. I tried doing the same thing when I was 16 after I read that. I learned that Fitzgerald moves his plots forward almost entirely through dialog, and that Thompson is a plagarist.
