Wordsworth, Lyrical Ballads

1798

Wordsworth has a reputation for being really boring, and it would be if you were reading this in a university setting in California or something. I read these poems on a spring weekend in Edinburgh when the whole world was opening up to me again, and it all was very timely, very pastoral, and very moving. So, if you have the book on your shelves but are looking for the best time to pick it up, I would wait until you are in those exact circumstances.
